Privacy Policy

Your trust matters to us. This policy explains what personal information Go Africa Academy collects, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices and rights you have over your data.
Last updated: 6 July 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to the Go Africa Academy e-learning platform (the "Platform," "we," "us," or "our"), operated by Vantage Point Solutions. By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to the practices described here. Please read it alongside our Terms of Service.

01 Who We Are

Go Africa Academy is a subscription-based online learning platform operated by Vantage Point Solutions Ltd, a technology and professional-skills training company. We provide courses, lessons, quizzes, progress tracking, and completion certificates to learners across Zambia, Africa, and beyond.

For any questions about this policy or your personal data, you can reach us using the details in the Contact Us section. Vantage Point Solutions is the "data controller" responsible for your information under applicable data protection law.

02 Information We Collect

We collect only the information we need to run the Platform and give you a good learning experience. This falls into a few categories:

Information You Give Us

  • Account details — your full name, email address, country, and the password you choose (which is encrypted and never visible to us).
  • Google Sign-In details — if you sign up or log in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account. We never receive your Google password.
  • Referral / promo codes — if you enter one when signing up, we record it to credit the person who referred you.
  • Support messages — anything you send us when you contact support or submit a request.

Information We Create As You Learn

  • Learning activity — which courses you enrol in, lessons and quizzes you complete, your progress percentages, and completion dates.
  • Certificates — the certificates you earn, including the course name, your name, the issue date, and a unique certificate ID for verification.
  • Account status — your subscription plan (Free, Pro, or Unlimited) and your role on the Platform.
  • Your own referral code — automatically generated so you can invite others and earn rewards.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Technical data — basic information your browser sends, such as your general location (used to show prices in your local currency), device and browser type, and the approximate time of your visits.
  • Session data — small pieces of information stored in your browser to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (see Cookies & Storage).
We keep it lean. We do not currently run advertising trackers, marketing pixels, or third-party analytics profiling on the Platform. We do not sell your personal information to anyone — ever.

03 How We Use Your Data

We use the information described above to:

  • Create and secure your account, and sign you in.
  • Deliver courses and lessons, and save your progress across devices.
  • Generate and verify your completion certificates.
  • Process subscription upgrades and confirm payments.
  • Operate the referral program and credit rewards fairly.
  • Show prices in your local currency based on your country.
  • Respond to your support requests and important account notices.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues.
  • Improve the Platform, understand which courses are useful, and fix problems.

We only use your data for the purposes described here. If we ever need to use it for something materially different, we'll update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.

05 Sharing & Third-Party Services

We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us operate the Platform, and only to the extent they need it to do their job. These are:

ProviderWhat they help withWhat they may receive
Google Firebase (Google LLC)Secure account authentication and cloud database that stores your profile, progress, and certificatesName, email, country, password hash, learning activity, plan
Google Sign-In (Google LLC)Optional one-tap loginName, email, profile photo from your Google account
SelarProcessing subscription payments for Pro and Unlimited plansEmail and payment details you provide at checkout

We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users, the public, or Vantage Point Solutions. If Vantage Point Solutions is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred, and we will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal data.

06 Payments

When you upgrade to a Pro or Unlimited plan, payment is processed by Selar, our third-party payment provider. Your full card or mobile-money details are entered on Selar's secure checkout and are handled by Selar under their own privacy and security policies — we never see or store your full payment card numbers.

Once a payment succeeds, we receive a confirmation and record which plan you purchased, the transaction reference, and the date, so we can unlock your access and keep an accurate account history.

07 Referral & Affiliate Program

Every account gets a unique referral code. If someone signs up using your code — or you sign up using someone else's — we record that connection so referral rewards and commissions can be credited correctly. For this program we may process the referring user's code, the referred user's account, and the resulting reward or commission amounts. We use this data solely to run the program fairly and to prevent abuse.

08 Cookies & Local Storage

The Platform uses a small amount of browser storage and cookies to work properly. We use them to:

  • Keep you securely signed in between visits.
  • Remember preferences such as your selected currency.
  • Temporarily hold information needed to complete an upgrade or apply a referral code.

These are essential to the functioning of the service. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, but some features (like staying logged in) may not work correctly if you do.

09 How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active, so you don't lose your learning progress or certificates. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal profile and learning data, except where we are required to keep certain records (such as payment and tax records) for a limited period under applicable law. Anonymised or aggregated data that can no longer identify you may be kept for analysis and improvement.

10 How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable and appropriate measures to safeguard your data, including:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the Platform.
  • Passwords stored only in secure, hashed form — never in plain text.
  • Authentication and database security managed through Google Firebase's infrastructure.
  • Access controls that limit who can view user data, with role-based permissions.

No online service can promise perfect security, but we work continuously to protect your information and to respond promptly if an issue ever arises. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.

11 Your Privacy Rights

You have control over your personal information. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct — update or fix inaccurate details (you can edit much of this in your account directly).
  • Delete — ask us to erase your account and personal data, subject to legal record-keeping.
  • Object or restrict — ask us to stop or limit certain uses of your data.
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format where technically feasible.
  • Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
  • Complain — lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe and may need to verify your identity first to protect your account.

12 Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for adult learners and users of working age. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it. Where a minor uses the Platform, this should be with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian.

13 International Data Transfers

Our service providers, including Google Firebase and Selar, may store and process data on servers located in different countries. This means your information may be transferred to, and processed in, a country other than the one you live in. Wherever your data is processed, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this policy and applicable law.

14 Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you through the Platform or by email. Your continued use of the Platform after an update means you accept the revised policy.
